1. What are pixels?     Pixels are the small dots/squares that make the display on a screen 2.   For the TikTok Marketing presentation, I learned that when making an ad for the app you should:  1. Make it organic, in other words, make it look like the other generic TikToks that you see on the app so that the viewer can somewhat be hooked into watching the whole thing, and may also consider trying out whatever you're trying to advertise. Use basic elements that the app gives you by default such as the text-to-speech voice, captions, and visual effects. 2. You don't really need a big budget to make a successful TikTok, not just in advertisements but in general as most people just use whatever things they have at home or buy something at their local 99 cents store and utilize some visual effects that the app offers to make it seem cool. 3. You should hop onto a trend that doesn't involve a specific song or gimmick, make sure it has some longevity. So for this 2-page spread project I originally struggled on what images I should choose to wrap the text around but eventually I decided on doing a sort of mid 80s-90s car magazine as all the cars you see here are from that time period. the part i struggled with the most was the wrapping of the text around the images, especially the Porsche 928 (Which is on the very left column) and the Ford Sierra Cosworth (Which is on the 4th column if you're reading from left to right) as I wasn't able to figure out how to get that small chunk of text on top of the cars gone 

(1) NO HIERARCHY (2) CONTRASTING COLOUR (3) CONTRASTING COLOUR (4) ALIGNMENT (5) SPATIAL INTERVALS (6) UPPERCASE AND SPATIAL INTERVALS (7) WEIGHT, COLOUR, SPACE, ALIGNMENT (8) ITALICS, SCALE COLOUR, WEIGHT, ALIGNMENT This assignment was a breeze to get through honestly, The only thing I struggled with was the Alignment parts in the Fourth, Seventh and Eighth Layouts but after playing with the paragraph panel a little I eventually got the hang of it. The font that I used was Helvetica LT Standard because although the computer I used had Helvetica Neue LT Com, the former was a little more accurate to the original layouts found in this PDF.  But anyway, the other 4 layouts were easy to replicate as I previously worked with Line spacing in the Block, Set, Type Assignment.

  Figure Ground Symmetry   Similarity   Proximity  Alright so we are back with doing Gestalt Proximity but we are doing it on grids this time, honestly, I think I put little effort into the work except maybe the second design, for the First design, I did sort of a "yin-yang" design, I have nothing else to say its quite bland. Anyway for the Second design, I clearly did Symmetry, I even went a little further and used the 'gutter space' as Adobe InDesign calls it to write the word "symmetry", I am quite happy with this design myself. For the Third design, I did Similarity where some of the text in the boxes would be bolded and form a T-shape, you could also consider this as Figure-ground. Finally, for the Fourth design, I did proximity where at least 2 grid spaces would space out all of the text boxes.

 

Encircle Jumping Apart Imposters So for the first design I did was "Encircle" where all the letters would encircle nothing... literally just encircling the void. Next up for the second design I did the word jumping where every 2nd character would be jumping up. For the third design I did Apart where all the letters were spaced apart in a rather weird way, you would know this if you checked the "expressivewords3.indd" file. And for the fourth design i did "Imposters" where the "I" was replaced with a "1", "O" being replaced with a zero and the "S"s being replaced with Fives
