Logo Final Tweaks Reflection

Image
For my logo tweaks, I decided to play around with the layout of the wordmark and the Tracking in some of the designs. For the colors of my designs, I used the colors of the flags of Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines as an inspiration because this airline is supposed to offer somewhat cheap flights in Southeast Asia, it made sense to use the colors of these flags. Surprisingly, I made 15 + 5 decent designs using the same typeface, Berthold  Akzidenz-Grotesk. I know it's shocking especially because I too didn't think I wouldn't need to switch over to a different typeface like Gotham or Frutiger for my designs.

Picasso's Jacqueline avec Fleurs in Photoshop Reflection

Image
Honestly doing this work was so frustrating especially considering the amount of detail the shirt and skirts the Picasso Painting had, I didn't really use that many brushes, I only used the same brush except I would occasionally change the size of it. Just like the Self Portrait assignment, I wasn't able to finish this as you can see.  But anyways... Jacqueline avec Fleurs or Jacqueline with Flowers was a painting made by Pablo Picasso in the year 1954, The reason why Picasso drew this was to celebrate his newfound love companion who was named Jacqueline Roque. However, the problem was that at the time, Picasso was already married with a woman named Olga Koklova so he couldn't marry Jacqueline until Olga died 11 years later in 1955. Picasso drew her with flowers because that's what he brought Jacqueline when they met at a potttery in 1953 along with a dove he painted for her.

Portrait in Type Reflection

Work overlayed onto the original image Work For this project I decided to use a picture of somewhat famous Roblox YouTuber "Flamingo", Honestly it was quite difficult to do the Mouth and Hair (despite him wearing a cap in the image), I tried to minimize distortion although flipping the text horizontally may count as distortion. I attempted to use more characters other than J  I  and Parenthesis "( )", but in the end that's what I mostly ended up using, I did however use Gs and Cs for the nose so that should make it a little less bland.

Society of Illustrators at 128 East 63rd Street, Lexington Avenue, New York, New York, NY 10065 Trip Reflection

Image
To summarize, my experience in the trip was great. especially in the Character Design workshop where we learned how to fold and make a zine (pronounced zeen) which is a small book consisting of 8 pages (including the cover), also we learned how to make character turn arounds which involves drawing a sort of target on which ever part of the face depending on the position of your character and then you draw the eyes and the rest of the face.  This is what the Zines look like This is what I meant by "character turnarounds" and "targets" Anyways moving on from the Character Design I took a pic of some designs that really caught my interest (about 14 but i will only show 2 because why not) The text is sort of unreadable because the original image was blurry. I tried using the unblur feature my phone had and its still quite unreadable. If you still cant read this, it says: Medium: Ink crayon, handmade stamps, paper collage. digital Imprint: Alfred A. TikTok Marketing reflection

For the TikTok Marketing presentation, I learned that when making an ad for the app you should:  1. Make it organic, in other words, make it look like the other generic TikToks that you see on the app so that the viewer can somewhat be hooked into watching the whole thing, and may also consider trying out whatever you're trying to advertise. Use basic elements that the app gives you by default such as the text-to-speech voice, captions, and visual effects. 2. You don't really need a big budget to make a successful TikTok, not just in advertisements but in general as most people just use whatever things they have at home or buy something at their local 99 cents store and utilize some visual effects that the app offers to make it seem cool. 3. You should hop onto a trend that doesn't involve a specific song or gimmick, make sure it has some longevity. In order to check this you can use the filters in the search feature on TikTok in order to find if a trend has died out or i

6 columns on 2 page spread reflection

Image
So for this 2-page spread project I originally struggled on what images I should choose to wrap the text around but eventually I decided on doing a sort of mid 80s-90s car magazine as all the cars you see here are from that time period. the part i struggled with the most was the wrapping of the text around the images, especially the Porsche 928 (Which is on the very left column) and the Ford Sierra Cosworth (Which is on the 4th column if you're reading from left to right) as I wasn't able to figure out how to get that small chunk of text on top of the cars gone
